At around 4:45 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 29, a detective stopped a car on Compo Road South after seeing it driving with a non-functioning tail light, police said. An odor of marijuana could be detected coming from the car, police said.
Police searched the car with the assistance of the K-9 unit, and located multiple glassine bags of marijuana packaged for sale, as well as a scale and vape cartridges containing THC oil, police said. Officers learned that the driver, Williman Olivero of Norwalk, had been selling marijuana while working in Westport, police said.
In total, police seized 67 grams of marijuana, along with money believed to be the proceeds from sales, according to police.
Olivero was charged with sale of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 9.
